Look Inside GW | Weekly Event Series

About George Washington University

George Washington University is a private institution located in Washington, D.C. that was founded in 1821 by an official act of the United States Congress. It has a total undergraduate enrollment of 12,484 and over 15,000 postgraduate students from over 130 different countries.

Event Background

Inside GW was a creative, five-week series for admitted undergraduate students with numerous presentations and important updates. Weeks of content were dedicated to navigating the student academic experience, exploration beyond the classroom, student life and the GWU community, and an Inside GW review that allowed students to catch up on sessions they may have missed. This immersive experience showcased the ins and outs of being part of the university community.

During The Event

Scheduled events during this five-week series were a mix of live and simulive experiences, and several included add-ons of breakout rooms to facilitate continued engagement between students and GW staff and faculty. This catered to the audience’s needs as well as the abilities and schedules of the presenters.

Admitted students were able to attend events that not only helped them answer any questions about the academic programs at George Washington University but they were also able to attend specifically crafted programming about navigating a PWI, working with the university as a First Generation student, as well as countless other resources for admitted students as they begin their GW journey.

The Results

During the programming of weeks one through four of Inside GW, there were over 2,000 total unique visitors to George Washington University’s Conduit platform. In total, nearly 40,000 activities were tracked on the Conduit platform, from attending events, submitted chats, downloading documents and more!

However, the icing on the cake was the students’ use of the Ready to Enroll button. Almost 200 students took time during Inside GW to enroll for their first year in the prestigious university in Washington, DC.

This opened my eyes. I have gained the knowledge that going to GW will not only be for academics, there’s more to it and there are a LOT of resources.
