How Babson College engages alumni in support of successful recruitment campaigns

About Babson College

An independent, not-for-profit institution, Babson is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, and the EFMD Quality Improvement System (EQUIS). In the 2018–2019 academic year, more than 2,350 undergraduate and nearly 1,000 graduate students are attending Babson, representing more than 80 countries.

Alumni & Prospect Engagement

As an institution with a focus on entrepreneurship, Babson has no shortage of alumni success stories to share. This creates a unique opportunity to create meaningful and engaging content for prospective students, while also providing alumni with ways to become involved in the campus community from afar. Providing prospective students with a firsthand look at the potential opportunities a Babson education can provide not only creates great experiences for prospects; it gives Babson a great opportunity to engage recent graduates in meaningful ways, supporting alumni engagement beyond financial solicitations.

In an effort to provide a unique experience for their prospective students, Babson hosted an “Optimize Your Potential” presentation featuring recent alumni sharing their experiences as well as how their Babson education has supported their success in a variety of careers.

Continuous Engagement

The program reached nearly 100 prospects, all while asking for less than an hour of the alums’ valuable time. Because the presentation was recorded on Conduit leveraging PlatformQ Education’s managed production services, it also makes for great on-demand or Simulated live presentations (a pre-recorded presentation accompanied by a live online chat). This enables Babson to feature these great alums over and over without consistently requesting more of their time. Additionally, insights that are gleaned from this presentation can be shared with the development office to help with the facilitation of future engagement and support opportunities for these happy and engaged alumni.

Recent alumni panels are a highly impactful way to engage successful individuals with direct ties to Babson College while not asking for a heavy commitment of their time. In less than an hour we were able to have great personalities sharing their direct perspectives, and most importantly outcomes, of their Babson experience with nearly 100 engaged prospects. This was far more meaningful to the alumni, the institution, and those prospective students than any singular financial contribution would have been. While first presented as a live panel, this also makes for great on demand content within our broader continuous outreach to new prospective students.
